BHP Iron Ore’s Infrastructure department manages a diverse, sprawling portfolio of non-production assets which are critical to sustain the ecosystem within which the Iron Ore business operates. A lack of a holistic approach to asset management has led to an aging portfolio, opaque condition understanding, reactive spend, and missed opportunities to effectively leverage functional groups within the organisation. To address these gaps, the Reliability team engaged Assetivity to perform an ISO 55001 gap assessment, and have subsequently being developing the strategic asset management framework to sustain a more efficient and cost-effective long-term operation.
